Gaea, The Mother Earth arose from Chaos to create some of the planets and I founded Gaea Pharma in 1994 with more modest goals.

My goal for Gaea is to share my experience to help biotechnology and mid-sized pharma companies take innovative hospital products through to market.

Money is increasingly limited in the industry and as a small agency we are able to work to modest budgets and still deliver a quality result.

  • We conduct portfolio analyses to prioritise compounds for development.
  • We conduct market analysis with opinion leaders to define the most appropriate target population, their unmet medical needs, the market size and the competition.
  • We encourage clients to have Expert Panel Meetings with clinicians who are active in clinical research in the field to gain their input to develop or question study hypotheses so that studies are realistic, feasible and meet clinical needs in both phase II and III.
  • We encourage clients to consider ways of conducting phase II studies other than using high cost, slow, global CROs. Its more demanding in planning to use other resources but with limited available money its timely for companies to address how they implement clinical plans.
  • Gaea has working relationships with consultancies in Regulatory Affairs in Europe for clinical trial approval, CPMP Scientific Advice, input to specialised areas such as gene therapy, and the development of Marketing Authorisation Applications.

  • Leadership of a multi-disciplinary drug development team at Hoffmann-La Roche
  • European general management of a biotechnology company, Synergen
  • European general management of a global CRO, ClinTrials.
